Missionary Moments

Dear Prayer Partners,

I'd like to thank everyone for prayers for my safe 'trip.' Praise the Lord my travel went well, but, I had a more interesting 'safe trip.' I arrived in Cagayan de Oro Saturday afternoon, January 26, for a two week visit. As I ran up the stairs early Sunday morning to open the station, I tripped on the top step of the fifth floor and mightily slammed my head into a concrete wall! After a few seconds of dizziness and a minute to catch my breath, I climbed the rest of the stairs and put the station on air. Although I had a humongous head-ache, praise the Lord, there wasn't even a lump on my head. All these years my wife knew I'm stubborn. Now there's proof I'm hard-headed!!!

The two weeks went quickly. We were able to nearly complete an unexpected re-installation of the computer. The full-time employees got a few days vacation while I was there. An in-depth evaluation of the past six months proved the station ran well. Many new people have begun Bible studies, more young people have accepted the Lord, and, one young man has committed to attend Bible school next year!

As we have the past six months, we will continue to be heavily involved in programming the station through the internet. "The New J" is reaching out to thousands of people every day. And, every day there are texts from new listeners praising the Lord for the encouragement they receive from the music and programs.

Please pray for our search for financial support for the station. We're still looking for an additional $40,000. This will cover the U.S portion of running the station for the next two years. Local support for the station began a year ahead of schedule and is something we will focus on upon our return in June.

Thanks again for your partnership together in the Gospel.

Serving together with you,
John De Cleene

The De Cleene's will speak at FRB, Sunday April 20.
