Fox River Baptist Church Welcomes You

Our church family would be delighted to have you join us to worship! We want you to consider yourself among friends who care. We believe that the church exists for the four-fold purpose of celebrating, cultivating, communicating and caring, all to the glory of God.

Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Pastor Tim Godfrey, Senior Pastor

Senior Pastor Tim Godfrey and his wife Becky are originally from West Virginia and moved to the Fox Valley in June of 1998. They have been members of Fox River since the spring of 1999. Pastor Tim has been in the ministry since 1993 and has been on staff at Fox River since 2000.

One of Pastor’s favorite Bible verses is…
Ecclesiastes 9:10 English Standard Version (ESV)
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.

Scott Smith, Elder

Scott Smith is married with seven adult children and has attended FRBC since June 2008. He has spent much of that time involved in the men’s ministry and been a part of the men’s leadership for this ministry since June of 2009. The men’s leadership plans men’s educational, service and fellowship opportunities as well as organizing an annual retreat. He is involved in a men’s Saturday morning Bible study, begun in September 2010, and became an Elder in November 2012.

One of Scott’s favorite Bible verses is…
Matthew 6:33 English Standard Version (ESV)
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Scott Dohms, Elder

Scott Dohms and wife Rhonda, who are originally from Eau Claire, were married in 1992. They have four children and have been members of Fox River Baptist Church since 1998. Scott has a passion for seeing children grow in their walk with the Lord. He has been teaching special education since 2000, on the Christian Education Board since 2000, and has taught Sunday School for the early elementary level since 2002. Scott also serves as head usher, in the sound booth and as of 2013 as an Elder.

What we believe…

  • We believe that the Bible, composed of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is inspired of God by verbal, plenary inspiration, inerrant in the original autographs, and is the final authority in faith, practice and all other areas to which it speaks
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, and His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His tangible return in power and glory
  • We believe that people are created in the image of God, that we disobeyed and thereby incurred both spiritual and physical death; consequently, all people are sinners by nature and practice, and are in need of regeneration, without which they are eternally lost
  • We believe that the substitutionary death and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ provides the only ground for justification, and that personal faith in Him is the only condition for salvation
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life
  • We believe that the universal church, founded at Pentecost, consists of all true believers and that the local churches are established for the purposes of worship, instruction, mutual edification and worldwide witness.
